The department "Construction Mechanics and Hydraulic Structures" was formed in 2016 as a result of the merger of the departments "Construction Mechanics and Hydraulics" and "Construction of hydraulic structures" by order of the rector TAU them. Sh. Shokhtemur number 72, dated 12/30/2016, which from 2017 to the present is headed by Ph.D., associate professor Ikromov I.I.

The department "Construction Mechanics" as an independent department, was founded in 1968, and in 1998 as a result of its association with the department "Hydraulics and Engineering Hydrogeology" was renamed the department

"Construction mechanics and hydraulics." Over the years, led by: Department of Structural Mechanics, Ph.D., Professor Rakhimov Kh.H. (1968-1984 and 1989-99), Ph.D., Associate Professor Lee VN (1984-1989), Department of Hydraulics and Engineering Hydrogeology, Ph.D., Associate Professor Ashurov AA, Ph.D., Associate Professor Ashurov SA, Ph.D., Associate Professor Babukov Sh.A., Ph.D., Professor, Bobohodzhaev S.M. and the department of structural mechanics and hydraulics - Associate Professor Kholov DT (1999-2007), associate professor Rakhimov F. (2007 - 2009), senior teacher Muhammadieva SG (2009-2014), senior teacher Sattorov Sh. (2015). In 2016, the duties of the head of the department were temporarily performed by the senior teacher Bobiev D.F.

The department "Construction of hydraulic structures" was founded in 1998 on the basis of the department "Organization of irrigation and drainage works" and, from the date of its formation until 2003, was headed by Ph.D., associate professor, and now Dr.Sci., Professor Ikromov I . The department of the organization of hydroamelioration works in different years was led by Ph.D. and Yuldashev MA In these departments in different years worked: senior teachers Asrorov DA, Dzhuldiev A.A., Logachyova G.G., assistants: Vaksman A., Najmiddinov A., Khushakov K., Rakhmonov A., Suzdaleva O., Najmonova L., Khaidarov A. and others.

The department of hydraulic structures was established in 1954, and its activity as an independent, continued until 2003, and then it was united with the department of the construction of hydraulic structures, which from 2004 to 2014 was headed by Ph.D. Over the years, the department of hydraulic structures was headed, associate professors: Umarov A. U., Mareshky B. T., Dianov V. G. In 2015, the department was headed by Ph.D. Salimov T.O.

Currently, the department of scientific and pedagogical activities are: candidate of technical science, associate professors Ikromov I.I. and Bobiev D.F., Dr.Sc. Professor Hadjibaev A.A. (0,5st.) senior teachers Isoev H.Yu., Sharipova AA, Zaripov SS D.M., Mirzoev H., Radjabov I.

Teachers of the department conduct theoretical and practical classes in the following disciplines: building materials, materials resistance, construction mechanics, hydraulics, foundation and foundations, engineering structures, hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants, pumps and pumping stations, hydro-land reclamation, technology and organization of construction, river intake facilities students of full-time and distance learning engineering areas.

The issue of improving the quality and efficiency of the educational process by the staff of the department pays great attention. With the direct support of the Rector of the Agricultural University, lecture courses were developed in all subjects and introduced into the base of the electronic library of the university. Teachers of the department conduct classes at a high methodological level and strive to ensure that the knowledge that students receive is in line with modern requirements.

In order to effectively conduct classes and improve the quality of students' knowledge, teachers of the department have developed a number of textbooks and guidelines, including: a short course of lectures in all subjects, work programs (syllabuses), methodical instructions for completing term and graduate bachelor and master's works, programs of educational and industrial practice, etc. They published more than 180 textbooks, teaching aids and guidelines.

Along with the pedagogical activity, the teachers of the department conduct research work on the topic: “Developing effective methods in the areas of restoring and using irrigated lands” (in the part “Assessing the technical condition of hydraulic structures”), based on the results of which practical conferences, and publish them in scientific journals.

According to the results of scientific research, scientists of the department released 5 monographs and books, and more than 350 scientific articles. Scientists of the department are the authors of more than 20 copyright certificates and patents for inventions. Since its foundation, the department has close scientific and methodological ties with all technical universities of the Republic of Tatarstan and related universities of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Kiev, Voronezh, Tashkent, Bishkek, etc.).

Lecturers of the department took advanced training courses in various cities of the former Soviet Union: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Kiev, Voronezh, Tashkent, Bishkek and the leading design and construction organizations of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The teachers of the department are the curators of academic groups, and on an ongoing basis they talk with students on various educational, moral, ideological and spiritual topics and also about respect for national values, major scientists of the Tajik people and their contribution to the development of world science, etc. They are also actively participate in all cultural and political events like the city of Dushanbe, and the Agrarian University.
