The Department of Poultry and Beekeeping in September 2014 was separated from the Department of Private Animal Science, and began to work under the guidance of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor A. Sharipov.

Currently, the following activities are carried out at the department: Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Davlatov M.N.; Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Sharipov A.; Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences Komilzoda D.K.; Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Rakhmatova S.A.; Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Lecturer Zubaidov K.Sh. and laboratory assistant Karimzoda B.R.

In recent years, on the initiative of the head of the department, a section on poultry and beekeeping has been opened at the department, where industry lovers and students have gathered to improve their experience. In recent years, under the guidance of Professor A. Sharipov, 8 applicants defended their dissertations. Currently, at the department: 1 applicant, 2 doctoral students and 2 masters are engaged in scientific work.

The department, in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, prepares specialists for the poultry and beekeeping industries. Currently, the department has a large number of textbooks, manuals and manuals for theoretical and practical classes, independent work. Teachers of the department teach the organization and management of poultry and beekeeping to students of the faculties of agronomy, agribusiness, fruit growing and biotechnology of agriculture and zooengineering.

In recent years, teachers of the department have published 3 textbooks: "Theoretical foundations of beekeeping", "Reproduction and selection work in beekeeping" and "Technology for keeping bee colonies".

In recent years, on the initiative of the head of the department, with the support of the project "Improvement of Curricula", a beekeeping laboratory with all the necessary equipment has been created at the department, in which beekeeping products are tested, the biology of honeybees is studied, and breeding work in beekeeping is carried out.The department closely cooperates with the Department of Breeding and Technology of Bees of the Institute of Animal Husbandry of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, State Unitary Enterprise "Med of Tajikistan", State Unitary Enterprise "Industrial Poultry Farming of Tajikistan", LLC "Poultry Development", LLC "Sheikh Kholmahmad" of the Rudaki district, LLC "Honey" of the Rasht district, the Institute of beekeeping of the city Ryazan Russian Federation, RGAU-MSHA named after K.I. Timiryazev, Moscow.

Also, under the guidance of the scientific department of the university and the center for international relations of the university, and the support of the livestock development program, the teacher of the department, candidate of agricultural sciences Zubaidov K.Sh. developed a beekeeping project, on the basis of which it is planned to create 100 bee colonies in the Gissar educational and practical farm, and conduct breeding work on beekeeping.
