In 1963, according to a special decree of the Government of the Tajik SSR, an agricultural economics department was opened under the agronomy faculty, which was headed by N. M. Sheftel. Later, in 1966, this department was allocated to an independent department, the first head of which was Kodirov J.K.

Over the years, the faculty was headed by associate professors: Manyakin AG (1979-1983), Akhtamov Kh.A. (1983-1984), Nabiyeva MS (1984-1994); Professor, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of High Schools Ergashev R.Kh. (1994-2002); Professor Samandarov I.Kh. (2002-2004); Professor Piriev Dzh.S. (2004-2007); Associate Professor Bayeva N.Kh. (2007-2015), Associate Professor Boboev Sh.K. (2015-2020). Currently, the Faculty is headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Mirzoev B/

Experienced teachers, including Nosirov R., Karomatulloeva R., Sharopov U., Yusupova D.S., Anvarov M., Nazarov Sh., Dustmukhamedova M. Many teachers are no longer in our ranks: Madaminov A.A., Rozikov M.U., Manyakin Kh.A., Akhtamov D.K., Mirakilov T.M., Mirzoyev T.M., Kurbonov T.K., Anvarov M. A., but we remember their contribution to the development of science and education.

The faculty includes 4 departments: organization of production in agro-industrial enterprises (1931), economics of the agro-industrial complex (1966), economic theory (1964), management and entrepreneurship (1978), which employ more than 35 experienced teachers, including 1 professor, 15 candidates of sciences, associate professors.

If until 1972 the graduates of the faculty received the qualification of a higher agronomist-economist, now the faculty for the field of agriculture offers specialties 1-25010715 - economics and management in the agro-industrial complex, 1-25011017 - trade in the agro-industrial complex. production complex, 1-26020207 - production management, 1-430202 - technology and organization of tourist services (agritourism) also trains highly qualified bachelors and masters. At the faculty, more than 25 graduate students and applicants defended their dissertations and received the academic title of Doctor of Economics, Candidate of Economics.

At the faculty, students are trained in the specialties "Economics of agricultural production", "Management in the agro-industrial complex", "Commerce in the agro-industrial complex". Experts of economic production of agriculture can work in industrial enterprises, in scientific institutions of agriculture and invest their contribution in the organization of the production process, by studying the best methods of production management, material, technical, labor and financial resources that will implement them in agricultural production. Graduates in the specialty “Management and management of the agro-industrial complex”, after graduation, can put into practice methods of production management in the new conditions of trade in agricultural products, in accordance with the new provisions in the domestic market of the country, including abroad.

Faculty members are constantly striving to teach students the basic principles of a market economy. This task is performed by experienced mentors, such as: Madaminov A.A., Pirzoda J.S.,., Nosirov R., Mirzoyev B., Islomov G.Kh., Anvarov I.M., Ashurov Sh.A., Karamatulloeva R.S., Sharofov U., Baeva N.Kh., Yusupova D., Nazarov S., Dustmuhammedova M., etc.

The reforms in the field of higher special education in the Republic of Tajikistan, which are carried out on the initiative and under the leadership of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic Emomali Rahmon, provide for improving the quality of education and training qualified specialists in accordance with international educational standards, including the introduction of higher educational institutions of the republic in single educational space.

The specialty “Management in the AIC” was one of the first to be transferred to the credit system of education. The positive aspects of this form of education are that much attention is paid to the organization and control of the independent work of students. In the final assessment of the discipline, along with the assessment for the exam, in aggregate, the independent work of students is taken into account, which encourages students to constantly prepare for classes.

The management and teaching staff of the faculty consider it paramount to improve the quality of students' knowledge, to prepare highly qualified personnel that meets modern requirements of the labor market.

In order to increase the level of students' knowledge, teachers of the departments prepare texts of lectures, develop methodological manuals and instructions for conducting practical classes, practical training, for independent work, coursework and graduation projects, for educational practice, etc.

The teachers of the faculty conduct research work in accordance with the plan of research work on the theme: "Ensuring sustainable innovative development of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Tajikistan."

Each department of the faculty was distributed research topics, with the aim of studying the development of agriculture in modern conditions and analysis of the main methods of sustainable development of agricultural sectors, based on real indicators of farms. Also, teachers of the faculty conduct research to determine the economic efficiency of agricultural sectors through the introduction of non-waste technologies, the provision of basic means of production, the improvement of production and social infrastructure, the involvement of qualified personnel in the agricultural sector.

The faculty team pays special attention to educational work among students, especially to the concepts of: National dignity, cultural values, a sense of patriotism and love for the Motherland, cultural and political issues. The faculty members consider it their duty to educate not only good specialists, but also harmoniously developed personalities, with a sense of high patriotism, culture and pride in soy homeland.

The teachers of the faculty together with the students of the faculty actively participate in the cultural and political life, in the events of the city and the university, such as: Mehrgon, Navruz, Sada. both university and country. They produce wall newspapers, where they place interesting information about various achievements.
